I just found out one of my friends from high school died.
He's my age. Turned 20 in February.
No word on how he died, but word has spread pretty quickly through facebook that he's gone.
He was never the smartest guy I knew, but he had a heart of gold. And one of the most gorgeous white guys I ever saw. I met him through friends during my freshman year.
See, there were two main middle schools that fed into my high school, and he was from the other middle school. During my freshman year, I sort of strayed away from all the people I knew already and made fast friends with the kids from the other middle school.
I remember seeing him hanging out with two people I'd met in my classes and asked who he was, and so after school that day, they invited me to hang out with them and we all walked home together.
I just remember being so awed by how hot he was. He was always good looking- even when he grew out his facial hair post-high school (I hate facial hair).
We didn't really talk after sophomore year of high school, but we'd say hi every once in a while, when we saw each other. He was always very nice to everyone and always considerate.
He will certainly be missed.
His little sister is graduating in 3 weeks :(
Yeah, just had to share my opinion on the topic..
I think everyone is freakin RUDE for saying that Kris Allen winning was the wrong thing. That SOMEHOW, America got it wrong. In my eyes, both Kris and Adam were fantastic. This was the first season where there was more than one "stand-out" artist. I mean, obviously, Adam has been stunning from day one- always able to arrange the song in new and different ways to make it "his", and his performances were definitely the most consistently flawless. But he did have his flaws- though his transition to his high range was seemingly flawless, the tambre of his voice in that range was well.. undesireable. It had this weird nasaly thing going on that got annoying after a while. Still loved him, but he definitely was not the "perfect" idol candidate that everyone (including myself) thought he was in the beginning.
Kris, on the other hand, was very much so the "underdog" of the whole competition. I remember, in the very beginning, I thought he was cute, and had a cute voice, but didn't have enough "star power" to allow him to stay. Boy was I worng. Although I still think he's incredibly.. closeted (not GAY. just.. doesn't really seem to develop a connection with the audience.. shy). But then, I guess that could have something to do with the fact that I haven't been able to watch these past few weeks' episodes because of my performances/rehearsals. but still. And I watched his performances on Tuesday night, but I wasn't blown away. He didn't leave me starring at the TV with my mouth open like Adam has (haha). That, and musically, he's never really spot on, pitch-wise. Something Adam has never had a problem with. Maybe because I know what to listen for when it comes to pitch and other people don't, maybe that's why I notice it much more than other people, but still. Kris has always had that problem.
Anyway, the good, for both? Kris has a contract with the Idol people (which could be bad also...) and Adam is free to do as he pleases with his music (because YOU KNOW he will be getting MANY offers. Probably got 10 last night). The reason why Kris' situation might be bad is that Idol contracts don't necessarily work out.. (fantasia, taylor hicks, ruben studdard) and I don't know if Kris is good enough to push through that and make it like Kelly, Carrie, or Jordin..
Either way I would've been happy with the outcome. It was a fantastic season, the best season in my opinion, in terms of talent. That finale I wish I had taped! All those different performers! and the "awards"! The team who came up with the finale should get a huge raise.
Ok, I think that's all. I am just tired of reading headlines/twitter updates about how Adam was "robbed" of the title, and how Kris was an "upset".
People are mean.
I just had THE BEST DREAM in the world.
I was in some other place.. not exactly sure where.. but Degrassi's Jimmy Brooks (character) aka Drake was there.
and we had some flirty moments and I treated him like a normal person, even though I knew he was famous.
and we had really good chemistry.
and we went on a date.
then we went to some art exhibit and I saw an old friend that I haven't seen in a long time, and I was really happy to see her. Then I went out to my car to get my camera, and I saw two of my old best friends who I'm not exactly on talking terms right now. And one of them had a kid in my dream.. it was strange.
but I was really sad to wake up because I really wanted to see where the thing with drake would go. I really liked us together. hahaha =)
